on today's post, I'm gonna be sharing another SM fav! and by favorite I mean, in song title;

Red Velvet subunit: Irene & Seulgi made a debut with the song Monster. again, I prefer not to watch the music video when trying to like a song and what do you know? it is a bob.

then days later, I thought, oh! here's another '3 similarity MTV' style thing. SM released 3 songs titled Monster since I first became a fan of kpop.

Starry Night

Suho released his 1st mini album, Self-Portrait, on 30th Mar 2020.

and it made remember why I appreciate his vocal. Please be reminded that he was in musical theater production before. To me, being in a musical theater production proves you have a vocal prowess.

anyhoo, 

in his album, there's a song with the title Starry Night.

I'm freaking out becoz I was starting with my Pretty Little Liars again, the first book from the fourth and final arch, Crushed, and I just finished the chapter (spoiler alert!!) where Aria stole the Starry night painting. like! *GASPPPPPPP what a coincident!

but after that I was like, "nyeh"

ANOTHER coincidence! I had my music playing on my phone at that time and the next few song after Suho's Starry Night was BoA's Starry Night. and I thought, "Whats with SM and Starry Night eh?"

and then much much later, 
came Onew's 밤과 별의 노래 (Starry Night), from SM Station released, a duet with Lee Jin Ah.

hahaha I don't know I'm making such a big deal out of this but I guess I'm a true 00s kid who grew up watching MTV. There was once a set where they played 3 videos back to back becoz all three videos have one thing in common. eg: Laundry machine place. and this is exactly what I'm doing right now: 3 songs with similar title. all under SM Ent. LOL

but I was mostly excited about that crazy coincidence between Suho's Starry Night and PrettyLittleLiar's Crushed.

NCT 127 comeback. My first NCT comeback!

and it's NCT 127's Kick It. MV released 5th Mar. Full 2nd Album, Neo Zone, released 6th Mar. 

Got two versions. N and C.

some people expected the Repackaged will ne two verison as well; T and 127.

I downloaded the album on the 7th Mar and I have not listen to other songs since then. but today is already the 17th and I am getting 'tired'. LOL Don't get me wrong. still good songs but after almost two weeks, i think, I need a break.

Brief: SM actually did good with their comeback. They made mini MVs for all the songs in the album. the Mini MV mostly highlighting the song 'feels'. I haven't really watch all. I only seen clips of them via Instagram.
the first one that got release was Dreams Come True. closer to the comeback date, they released the other MVs and I don't know about other people but that hyped me up. I guess that was the point they were doing that.

Don't be fooled by the 'lively' feel of the song. the lyrics are sad. like, why? Kindly match your melody/music with your lyrics?!

No no. don't get me wrong. I am easily bored person. I stand by what I said, "It's a good album". I'm mostly excited coz it's my first comeback with NCT.

I have a new favorite!

Hi guys!

I know, I need to catch up with my posts, sooo here we go.

My budd asked "Kenapa ko suka NCT?" and I went, "sigh. I know why ..just, I don't know how to explain" and I proceeded to explain to him WHY. bahahah

For starters, I've always been SM bias. So, anything SM produced, I will end up supporting.
I don't know if anyone remember but I started obsessing over kpop with Super Junior and over time, as do with all obse - you know what? I'm gonna start using the word 'Passionate' instead of  'Obsess' from now on - as do with all things you passionate about, you will become more knowledgeable of your passion, as in, I know what SM Entertainment is and which idol is under SM and everything fall into places from then on.

You know, of course, I became a Shawol next. I'm still an ELF, just not as passionate as I once were. I'm also a Jumping Boa, MeU, Sone, EXO-L, Cassies, ReveLuv, and NCTzen. Like I said, SM bias.

why I'm passionate about NCT at the moment?

There was a time when SHINee was busy promoting in Japan and they were absent from Korean stage for almost 2 years. When they returned and start promoting in Korea again, Onew said, in his very monotone and stoic face, "I will chase who ever ran to other groups while we were away". and I remember posting "Damn! i should have fangirling over NCT!" supaya cOnew chase aku lah tu ah.. i guess, I became a true NCT fangirl after that?

Um. pause. i found the video. Onew said that at 3:04



umm..i had secondhand embarrassment watching this. Even Taemin can't. like, why am I a Shawol? the fuck is this shit?  I. LOVE. THEM! 💚💚

ok, let's continue.

By that point NCT already began promoting and I have listened to their songs and some are such jam! as mentioned in previous post, a good song IS a good song. 

I think the first song I really listened to is Cherry Bomb, not a big fan. but lucky i have a habit of downloading full album. Whiplash is my fav song from that mini album. 



and then Fire Truck happened. SHINee's Key was one of the MC in one of the music show when NCT was promoting that song, soooo, you understand why I can sing a long to "ey yea yea hands up if you feeling the vibe now" LOL 

anyhoo everything kinda just, once again, fall into places with my passion with NCT from here onward. oh! and Boss! by NCT U. This song has been my jam for a while. even up until this week. LOL



Of course, I'm still a Shawol. and then 2017 happened and SHINee kinda slowed down, and then by end of 2018, Onew enlisted for their mandatory army service. Key and Minho followed early 2019. and now only Taemin left, being our little baby SHINee. This also mean, I'm missing SHINee a lot and I needed new songs to listen to. 

SM kinda "I gotchu fam" me and continue to promote NCT and also Red Velvet a lot this year. and you bet I listened to those new songs. and for some 'hype' reason, I became a passionate NCTzen? 
Maybe you are unaware but SM is promoting NCT 127 to the US this year and they collaborated with a singer I'm aware of,  Ava Max, with So Am I. of course, NCT 127 has a couple of songs in English; Regular and Highway to Heaven. 






I heard this song being played on the local radio station a number of times now and I felt proud for what ever reason.🤗🤗🤗


Even NCT Dream had a collab with HRVY with Don't Need Your Love for SMStation.




I mean, tell me these aren't good songs? Like...

So, why is NCT suddenly becoming my new favorite? hmm.. I don't thing this is sudden. I've always been a fan and only now that SHINee is at a pause that I'm giving them a chance. No, I don't think I'm moving on to becoming NCTzen like I did when I was an ELF. I'm just appreciating new very good songs at the moment.

I hope this story time is fun to read. and I apologize if there're any mistake in naming the correct NCT sub groups. even I can't keep up. 😅😅

Tell me what song are you listening a lot to at the moment? 🤔 to be really honest, I listen a lot to SHINee, EXO, and NCT songs these days. so, again, call me a multi fandom onnie/noona, song wise. 😉

mini list of my first Kpop comebacks

I thought of this topic as I was writing the post with Sulli's solo; My first kpop comeback from my favorite.

My first comebacks for a few favorites; SuJu, SHINee, f(x), BoA, Girls'Generation.

Here's what Comeback means:

When I said 'my first', I meant the comeback that I actually looking forward to watch on KBS (the only Korean Channel available in our TV cable) 's Music Bank (a Korean music show) after I get to know the group and listening to what ever they have released prior to that comeback. So, let's go!

1. Super Junior - No Other.

Ok, so, I was looking at their Single list on wiki and my first comeback should've been It's You. coz I was obsessing over SuJu since Sorry Sorry but I guess, I was just obsessing and didn't really understand the concept of Korean Music Show until No Other came out. No Other wasn't even a title song, it was from the Repackaged one. I remember the last stage they did of this song was when SHINee made a comeback with Lucifer. I remember becoz Leeteuk shouted "SHINee Comeback. something something..hwaiting" during the stage. LOL sorry, I don't understand Korean much.. Let's share that video



dam! I missed 2nd Gen group. and SuJu is my first Kpop group. Oppa-deul, saranghae 

2. SHINee - Lucifer

Ok, this obviously related to the above.
I was beginning to obsess over SHINee at this point coz I was obsessing over SHINee Hello Baby. 

I'm not sure if it was but this song reminds me of how I started investing to much time and money on SMTown.



ohhhh SHINee performed first, then SuJu, coz, Goodbye Stage. Ok, understand.


3. f(x) - Danger

Ok, this one kinda hazey but I remember obsessing (yes, I'm easily obsessed!) over this song the same time I obsessed with SHINee and SMTown concert. or somewhere along that road. f(x) is the first Kpop girl group that I really like.



Now I remember how the idea of this post came to me. the GIF I used on previous post was taken from f(x) Official MV for Danger. 


4. Girls' Generation - The Boys

I'm telling you, this list is base on that year SMTown became so big and doing world tours. around 2010/2011. The year I become full kpop stan! 
I wrecked my brain for stories behind this choice and actually, OH! was the first comeback I followed but only thru the Music Video. Does that count? maybe. but let's stick to comeback stages, yeah? (my list, my rules muahahaha)



I'm reminded to why Hyoyeon become my bias. Her rap here. sharp!


5. BoA - Hurricane Venus

this probably was everyone's first comeback of BoA after a while. becoz this was five years after her last Korean album released. I remember watching this and thought, "that's how you do live" coz I was so used to watching her (via youtube of course) live in concert.



it was such a good performance! No one can beat this Queen. She does more live concert than live music shows! 


I think that is enough for this post, yes?

Betrayed

Hi guys!

Another quick post.

Today I wanna talk about Sulli, a former f(x) member.

I know, shocking. She was never my favorite but when she was in f(x), I cheered for her too by default coz f(x) is my fav girl group.
until~ she decided to leave f(x) to pursue acting. 🙄

I only ever know she acted in one movie after she left f(x) and that movie wasn't well received. I also think she was in one historical kdrama but I don't know what become of that. 
Mostly, I saw her in mainstream online kpop media coverage over some 'inappropriate' posting on her personal IG (this part, I'm on her side: it's her Instagram and her life, she has all the rights to do what ever she wants) and being featured in/on magazines.

So, when SM announced last week that Sulli will be releasing a song, I rolled my eyes so hard that I fear you will see my whites from then on. LOL I was so annoyed and hating. dah tah aku memang anti kedia when she left f(x), telling people she wanted to act but barely doing any acting, and now, she's releasing a song?!

I feel the same way I did when Brian, former member of Westlife, left the group then not even a year later, releasing a song as a solo artist; Betrayed.

You ARE a singer when you were in the group. I 👏 JUST 👏 DON'T 👏 GET 👏 WHY 👏 YOU 👏 HAVE 👏 TO 👏 LEAVE 👏 IF 👏 YOU 👏 GONNA 👏 END 👏 UP 👏 BEING 👏 A 👏 SINGER 👏 STILL 👏

Ok, lah, lemme justify their actiona:

• maybe they weren't treated right
• maybe they wanted more say in what they can do artistically
• maybe they always wanted to be a solo artist

sigh

Just becoz I tried to be more understanding, doesn't mean I can't still resent them.

I mean, they left! and for some reason, that separation ends the group!

Ok lah..grateful each remaining members, both Westlife and f(x), ended up doing solo thing successfully, meaning we still get to see them around the entertainment industry. 

and let's not forget, currently Westlife is doing a world tour after almost a decade of disbandment. Maybe the same thing will happen to f(x) too? Lets us hope so.

as much as I resent Sulli, I'm curious about her solo. I wonder what kind of genre her song will be.

December 18th, 2017.

A Monday.

It had been a long time since I last had my 'Monday Blues'. while other people have Monday Blues, I have Busy Bee Monday.

I came to work on the dot and had already set my mind into 'work' mode. Meaning, no matter what happened; lots of customers, lots of transactions, "I'm gona get thru the day head on!"

and then the day end. I was just getting into my car when I saw a text from my bespren, "JONGHYUN DIED??"
confused and a little insulted, I texted back, "Whaaaaaaa"

Time was 7:24pm.

He told me to check IG.

I had not check my IG all day. I was on youtube (listening to horror search and rescue story that day) most of the time.

So, I checked my timeline. I see that most of the fanacct I followed did not say anything about it.

and when I finally did check my Explore page, my heart skipped a beat.

there it was, the news.
Jonghyun found dead. Send a suicide text to his sister. Dead by CO poisining.


Of course, my initial reaction was "denial".

I have never been so in denial ...ever.

but as the hour went on, the fanaccount I followed started to post about the incident, one by one.

Reading from the Explore page was such an agony.

Zawir said, "this is worse than a band breaking up"

I, on the other hand, kept texting back "omg"

sampai Zawir pun ckp "Can you say anything else??!"

I mean, what do you want me to say?

I was so tired from a long day, all I planned on doing that night was sleep early, and then this news attacked me.

It attacked the entire Kpop world!

WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO SAY?

but nothing hits hard then when SM finally post an Official statement.

Nothing, I tell you.

I also kept on saying to myself, "What the hell Jonghyun? what the hell"

I know about his struggle with Depression. He talked about it often. I know.

but

I didn't think he would give up.

I didn't think he would end up choosing this path.

I kept thinking of his mother and sister whom he was super close with. whom he protected. whom he loved. whom loved him back. Honestly, atu yg ku pikirkan yg buat aku sedih.
next I thought of SHINee member; Minho and Taemin went to his concert on 10th Dec. Onew must've blamed himself for causing such big scandal for SHINee, and Key. Key as I understand it, was in Portugal. He was on the way back last night.

Part of me was so upset he chose that. very very upset.

But mostly,

I was sorry.

Sorry that I didn't think of him much during Onew's absence.

Taemin, Key and Minho news often pop up on social media as they were busy with their schedules.

the only time I smiled for Jonghyun was when fanaccounts started posting clips and images from his Inspiration Concert.

that was it.

he just had a concert.

I didn't think he would end his life in the midst of that.

I didn't ....

Typing this post the day after. 19th Dec. at a restaurant near my office. at 8:38am coz I couldn't do anything last night.

all I did was read IG, do laundry. played Dong Yi on my DVD but only as my background music, and the last time I see the clock on my phone, it showed 2:48am

I woke up to my alarm at 6am. then another alarm went off around 6:10am, from StarPop game app.

Jonghyun voice telling me to wake up.

then it hit me again.

I remembered that my dream had been me crying in so many random places.

my heart.
you know that feeling of difficulty breathing when you started crying your heart out?
it felt that way the moment I opened my eyes.

If Brian leaving Westlife in 2004 was bad news,
Jonghyun passing is worst.

Shawol decided to turn their DM to white instead of black.
Becoz Jonghyun had been in the dark. So black is too depressing.
White is the light.

I think thats what they meant.

gosh, I could go on forever with this but what's the point?

I'm not giving up on my life, if that's what you're worrying about.

I'm just gonna be sad.

maybe this news don't hit me as hard as it did to other Shawol, but when you're presented with such devastating news, something that didn't even cross your mind in the slightest, I think, I am allowed to be sad.

as a Shawol, especially after Onew's scandal 3 months ago, all I've been thinking about is seeing SHINee as 5.

it's all I know. SHINee is not SHINee if one member missing.

I don't remember a SHINee concert without Jonghyun. maybe he did miss a couple during his recovery from his car accident. that was like way back when he still drives his Kia Sonata? way before he bought that Lambogini. I'm not in the mood to Google actual year.

anyway, pokoknya, kalau ada SHINee concert, mestilah ada Jonghyun. he the main vocalist!

I wonder what will happened to SHINee Dome Concerts in Japan, February 2018.

SMEnt has cancelled all SM artist event since 18th Dec night. 

19th Dec is the start of the funeral service and i think it will end on 21st Dec.

i think it's fitting SHINee member to be his chief mourners; Jonghyun been telling the public that SHINee is his family.

sigh.

No, I have not cry. while I'm awake.

I dread seeing the other 4 members on the 21st Dec.

I'm not crazy over the top with it but I like it.

but to be honest, I would appreciate it if it was just Onew alone.

I know Onew sang solo before for several drama's OST but for once, I want a song from SM for Onew.

anyhoo, here's the song



the video is kinda, lame. 
but maybe becoz they (Onew and Jinah) could not find the time to work on it at the same time.
there was a part where the cartoon kinda 'kissed' and surprisingly, instead of being 'jelly' over it, i was actually making this - i don't know how to describe it - shriek. the kind of noise you make when you see something cute, and you kinda hug yourself and cover your face. you know?
HAHAHAHAH seriously, i was not jealous.

although, the intro reminds me of another song's interlude:

but really...


in all fairness, Starry Night is an ok song for those who love Onew's jazz voice. 
I've never heard of any other work of JinAh before but she was ok too.

I read somewhere that Red Velvet will be releasing new album too (I don't know if its mini or full album)
