Starry Night

Suho released his 1st mini album, Self-Portrait, on 30th Mar 2020.

and it made remember why I appreciate his vocal. Please be reminded that he was in musical theater production before. To me, being in a musical theater production proves you have a vocal prowess.

anyhoo, 

in his album, there's a song with the title Starry Night.

I'm freaking out becoz I was starting with my Pretty Little Liars again, the first book from the fourth and final arch, Crushed, and I just finished the chapter (spoiler alert!!) where Aria stole the Starry night painting. like! *GASPPPPPPP what a coincident!

but after that I was like, "nyeh"

ANOTHER coincidence! I had my music playing on my phone at that time and the next few song after Suho's Starry Night was BoA's Starry Night. and I thought, "Whats with SM and Starry Night eh?"

and then much much later, 
came Onew's 밤과 별의 노래 (Starry Night), from SM Station released, a duet with Lee Jin Ah.

hahaha I don't know I'm making such a big deal out of this but I guess I'm a true 00s kid who grew up watching MTV. There was once a set where they played 3 videos back to back becoz all three videos have one thing in common. eg: Laundry machine place. and this is exactly what I'm doing right now: 3 songs with similar title. all under SM Ent. LOL

but I was mostly excited about that crazy coincidence between Suho's Starry Night and PrettyLittleLiar's Crushed.

Hari Raya

can you believe it?
it's Hari Raya already!

and I have not stop drinking sodas/sweet-canned drinks since morning.

I did not take any OOTD or our newly-cleaned living room or festive foods on our table pictures.

I wasn't busy.

for the first time, in a long time, I finally feel 'chill' on first day of Hari Raya. 
(coz I used to be such a control freak. well, I still am, deep down, but, I'm trying to minimize it :P).

coz tomorrow kami balik kampong and I'm telling you, it's gonna take an entire day.

Nasib cuti panjang. I shall recharge my sleep before Monday comes.

Nicky Byrne

Westlife days are over but my loyalty to my fav lad never ends!

Nicky Byrne released his album recently and aku baru download last Thursday.

THERE WERE VERY AWESOME SONGS!

WELL DONE NICO!

he deserved this solo.

Time Westlife, he wasn't given much chance to show his ability to sing.

I posted once that I know he can be the awesome singer that he is if he was given equal number of solos during Westlife, just like how Taemin was given the chances in SHINee songs. if you curious which post, click here to reread that post xD


the part yg had me grinning so wide was the part cNicky sang something along the line 'thank you for mendangani liat bula sampai aher2' in one of the song (msani masih inda pasti which song pasal I listen the album once saja baru *ketawa*).

it was the sweetest thing! and for sure he was singing about his wife, Georgina!

I haven't listen properly to any of Markus Feehily's songs/album. He's not so active on Twitter these days. (or aku yg jarang masuk Twitter dah masa ni xP)

Yass Kim Jonghyun

Jonghyun will do a comeback with first full album.

tapi kan, macam ada 9 lagu saja. Almost similar pun with the number of songs in his other mini albums.

so, maybe half sja yg kan show ani lah ah.. *being optimistic*

i hope his songs here are more acceptable for my ears this time around.


one question though:
what's with the peanut butter spread?

and of course, Shawol is fast

$100 says Korean Shawol will be sending skippy peanut butter spread to Jonghyun during broadcast?

SM released. and My opinion on it.

I didn't mean to start of my post (after a week of absence) with this; but its about the only thing I can get going on...hahaha please just beruang (bear) with me on this one.

First off,
Jonghyun 2nd Mini Album.
a song called 02:34 is one of the song that have been played most among the 9 songs on the album.



The first song of this album, called The End of the Day, was actually very Jonghyun-i~ and I like it.



and this song, Like You, deserves a mention. not because I like it but because I literally laugh out loud at one point coz I thought I heard him say 'fcuk u' (not the one during the chorus. the one around 1:09-1:12 is the start. you can hear it again thru out the song) hahahaha

and the rest of the songs in this album are just ..I'm not crazy about them.  
Maybe it's the music. as Kris (ex-member of EXO) once said, "Naega style aniya".
I know I should be more constructive with my 'criticism' but since I'm no expert (and I'm dead lazy kan berhujah or ber-debate) that's about the only polite way to say it.
that low key, breathy way of singing is also Naega Style Aniya 
I admit that I'm always so proud when I see on some article that says Jonghyun wrote the lyric of this songs and Jonghyun write and compose a song for other artists but that doesn't mean I have to like it, right? I am still entitle to my own opinion and feelings.
I listen to music to get my mind off things, and most of Jonghyun musics make me feel uncomfortable. Not because of the lyrics (coz God knows I don't understand Korean) but just the way it was 'presented'. I don't know eh cemana kan explain lagi. Go figure it out yourselves. but if you happened to like Jonghyun songs, good for you. Jonghyun made this album for you. you don't need to bash me. I still bought his original as a way of supporting his career. even though I'm just one person and may seems like I don't contribute much, the Emperor from Mulan said, 'A single grain of rice can tip the scale. One man maybe the difference between victory and defeat'. LOL nah ko! sampai Mulan ku bawa kemari ani...jua lagi aku inda making my point...hahaha

and btw, his album 'skin' is literally no skin at all. there are no Jonghyun face anywhere.

Second off,
Taeyeon 1st Mini Album
fav song? I 



I listened and watched the mv at the same time. My initial reaction was touched. or sebak di dada. or something like that. I hate Taeyeon's acting. but the rest of the mv with the song reminds me of Ireland. I don't know why. maybe it's the green-field scene with kambing. I don't know. it just reminds me of Ireland.
and I've never been to Ireland, mind you. I mostly ever seen glimpse of it from Westlife's DVD footage. So, maybe it just reminds me of Westlife and ultimately of Ireland too.
I like the entire album. the songs choice fits Taeyeon's voice (in my opinion). music wise is well received by my ears and brain. 
But her live performance sucks. and I'm not even sorry for that. She could've done so much better. I don't know what she's trying to hide or why she's holding back. she can do better and I hope that she will.

this post just shows just how you can never judge people from the outside. We will never know what's going on inside their head.
Like me; I LOVE SHINee but I can't seem to kid myself to go gaga over Jonghyun's music releases. and Taeyeon, I have been feeling annoyed with her (all the other SNSD members, really) ever since the Jessica's Cast Out drama. So, I was surprised when I fell in love with her album.

It's Taemin's Time

as you know, Taemin made his solo debut.

and my fav song from his mini album as of now is Danger.




I'm not feeling the MV though. So, I only watched it once. It reminds me so much of Michael Jackson.
I'm not saying he's copying MJ style. I know Taemin style of dancing always revolve around 'turned 360 degree'.  I know MJ is one of his (if not biggest) inspiration for dancing. Just, not a huge fan of this mv lah. i prefer listening to his song sja. inda payah liat MV.

his voice has matured (more) since Replay Japanese version. So I have nothing on that. I believe if you've practiced enough, it's impossible not to be better. Well Done Taeman! *thumbs up*

I read somewhere that he cried during a fan meet. I don't know whether because someone upset him telling him he's not good enough to go solo, Jonghyun or Onew should be instead, or because he was so touched that so many Shawol/Taemint supported him. I hope its the latter. 

there's this one song which featured Kai of EXO.



a dream come true for them TaeKai shippers. 
I like the intro music. very unique. and *main trompet* hahah not a big fan of this song. yet.

give me a few more days to decide which song other than Danger is my fav.

J-Min

J-Min, my new favorite. xD

as most know, whenever I was bored, I do random stuff. One of them being --> downloading songs.
that was when I came across J-Min's 1st Mini Album, Shine. since I've known her from To The Beautiful You OST, 'Stand Up', I terus download her album.

When I was listening to the album, i right away fell in love with this song called 'If You Want'.



I'm not quite sure on how to describe the feeling but the easiest way to tell is that it reminds me of the end of 90s and early 2000s kinda beat/melody. Plus her english is awesome! her diction is on the dot! I was so impress and decided that this is my fav song from this album.

I found out today that the song was originally in Japanese.



sounded foreign to my ears. (what am I talking about? Korea kh, Jipun kah, memang foreign pun since I don't understand both language LOL)
that was only because I'm so used to the Korean version of the song.

but I came to my senses and thought 'well, now I can sing along to it!' *throws confetti*
and I downloaded the Japanese lyrics MV too. LOL



I always thought she was under SM (coz To The Beautiful You is SM dominant). then today I was reading/listening on YouTube and seems like she wasn't always; she talks about JYP a lot. I don't know what else and I didn't bother to dig deeper. All I know is that she's under SM now coz her picture was on SMTown Live IV poster.

sigh. SMTown.
I WANT TO GO.
hopefully ada lagi di Singapore.

I've listened to the second song that came with this Single, Everytime. I like that song too! but it was only partial of that song that I listened to, balum ada yg full. So, looking forward to that hehe have a listen to it down below:



when I first tried to watch the video, the first comment that I encountered was something that goes the line of 'now, we'll wait for Mark's first single'..mcm, on Shane's vevo? really? the man just started his career again, how can you shoot him down before he even fully begin? tsk. such commentors.

and today, the top comment is, "Ive said it before- "HE COULD SING THE DICTIONARY AND IT WOULD SOUND BEAUTIFUL"!! Love you forever Shane  :o)". Aku sokong! completely. I think all Lifers would agree too. his voice is as good as it was on record when he sings live. He's THAT good!

sigh..I miss Westlife.
