When in Seoul part 5

yayyy we made it, part 5!

Hi guys.

Welcome back and thank u for coming back.

Today's post gonna be about our final day in Seoul, Day 5, and our visit to Lotte World.

My friend belanja me the ticket to the theme park, thank U!! and with that ticket, it includes the entrance fee to the Folk Museum.

We first entered the theme park. and walked around. We didn't get to play any of the games tho. coz my friend was afraid of heights and the other game has some major queues.

I mean it's not Disneyland but I guess it's suffice. Ah! We went on a Friday so that should explain the crowds.
wow! that was the only pictures I have of the theme park. wow. it really is painful making this post series. They keep reminding of all the pictures I have lost.

Anyway, after making a couple of round trying to find a ride, we ended up going to the Folk Museum, inside the mall. Lotte World is actually a mall.
actually, Lotte World and its theme parks reminds me of Genting Highland in Malaysia. same theme or concept.

now, the museum was almost deserted. Like, really. We will meet a couple of people and then, we were alone again. I guess know was excited as I was. I mean, look at this fancy miniature thingy!

There were also some larger scale display and a life scale display of which I no longer have a copy of.

For more interactive activities I did at the museum, kindly check my IG.

and I don't remember what we did afterwards. Like, I have no further recollections of that trip other than going to the airport. LOL

I think we just when back to the hostel to rest and when out to eat and tried to shop in Myeongdong. I think lah.

and just like that, the trip came to an end.

and so is this post series.

I hope you enjoy my stories. Hopefully I'll be rajin enough to share stories from my Japan solo trip too in the near future.

Until then, thank u for coming this far guys. I appreciate it.

My Make-Up Journey

Hi guys,

it's time!

My make-up journey.

where do we start?

What I know of make-up base on the preference of my elder sister and cousins when I was younger was compact powders and good lipsticks. I grew up a tomboy? I think? meaning, I am less girlie compared to my sister and putting on make-up was not a thing for me.

I grew a little older and I started playing with compact powder and lipsticks too but that was it. I don't remember at what age but compact powder and lipstick was what everybody seems to be doing back then and I 'terjebak' also when I rajin. LOL yes, When aku rajin saja.

Obviously, as I grew more older, I began to take make-up seriously. I found out that my make-up and skin care interest started at about the same time. See here and maybe here. I was searching for so many things for this post hence the procrastination. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I think what pushed me into doing proper make-up is the make-up brushes I bought from Storybook Cosmetics. I bought the ones for eye make-up and the ones for face (for foundation, blushes, etc).
When I purchased them, I really had no idea what I was supposed to do with them! but I learned via Google and Youtube. and as my "skill" progresses, so does my need to buy more make-up related things. I bought 4 more brushes; two from the Face Shop, and two from Sigmas. πŸ’ΈπŸ’Έ

Base make-up a.k.a. foundation.
Mine went from compact powder to actual liquid foundation.
For the longest time, I remembered always wearing the same compact powder from Garnier. and I mean THE same ONE powder, not same powder purchased multiple times (I know πŸ’† don't judge me).

I also had a phase where I tried a lot of BBcream from The Face Shop before finally settling with liquid foundation. Laik, what even is going on! πŸ˜‚

Nowadays, I've been playing a lot with Maybelline Fit Me Foundation and LA Girl ProCoverage illuminating Foundation.

Eye Make-up.
I started 'berjinak-jinak' with eye shadows after watching so many IG clips and Youtube.
First one I bought was from The Face Shop; Mike Wazowski's mono pop eyes. then I moved on to Too Faced's Sweet Peach, and currently, I'm playing with Australis's Neutralize.
I only have 3 palette and 3 singles ones. the singles I bought back when I only have Mike's and Peach's.

Eye Brows. this one pretty epic. LOL
The first one I bought was from NYX and it was in Grey. and damn! my eyebrows looked crazy when wearing it. After that, I learned to buy more lighter color a.k.a brownish coz they look prettier than black/grey on me.

Mascara. this is pretty basic.
My first one was from Maybelline. the cap was pink. Then I found out about the Barbie one which I was obsess with! From Tati, I learned about another Maybelline mascara. red cap. and From Jeffree Star I learned about Benefit's Roller Lash mascara.

Eye Liner. hmm
I never really like wearing eye-liner coz in the beginning I was critisized heavily on it and it someone scarred me and I never reached for it again. My first one was, you guessed it, from The Face Shop. FACE it All About Simple Liner. I did purchase other pencil liner but as I said, I seldom reach for those. recently, i bought new liquid liner, Maybelline's Hypersharp Liner. this one actually thanks to Brunei MUA. I forgot her name but I saw her post on IG.

Blusher!
I love blusher! especially after I understand how to wear them. My first one was from The Face Shop (pretend to be shocked). this one is liquidy, kinda like the bbcream texture. I bought a powdery one from The Balm, and second one from Too Cool For School.

LOVE! πŸ’–πŸ’–

Primer.
People said, Primer shouldn't give you break outs but NYX one did. To me, at least. They worked amazing, yes, but I often ended up with this tiny and many raise white heads after using them. I also tried the Australis Ice Princess Primer. this one actually was great but the color was too light. So, sometimes I don't even bother wearing primer. But after my Seoul Trip, I can't go wearing make-up without putting on my new primer I bought from Banila Co. there is also this new one I bought time puasa and only pakai last Sunday. it's a spray typed. I was happy with the 'outcome', it stayed more 12hrs and I'm gonna try use it again this coming weekend, see if I will get the same result.

Setting Spray and Powder.
First time I used a setting spray was when I put on my own make-up for an annual dinner. NYX's Matte Finish. then I came across Australis's Finizhing Spritz and been using this most of the time. until recently, I finally give the LA Girl Por.Powder that I bought last year, a chance. I kinda like the outcome more, i think. I don't know. It's hard to tell which one perform better coz Brunei is a tropical country, meaning, make-up stays or melt depending on the weather. and most of the time when I put on make-up, I don't put the weather into consideration, so, yeah. Not a make-up expert here.

Lipstick!
finally. we are almost finish with this list.
I used to pretend that my Bodyshop lipbalm pot is a lipstick. I also remember a time when I was obsess with 'light' shades lipstick. Then I was in a phase where I was obsessing over dark shades. and now, I like to just put a little on my lips and smudging it with my finger to make it seems 'natural' color of my lips. πŸ˜
you understand why I don't have pictures; I have too many. and do note, this is the only make-up that I reach for often. coz, a little color on your lips change your appearance instantly! even without full on make-up.

*clap like a seal*
yayyyyyy! done!

From what I learned from Youtube and what I have experienced myself, mahal (expensive) does not mean better.
coz for example, The Saem Concealer Foundation was a few dollars more then Maybelline Fit Me Foundation but Maybelline worked better for me.
another example, Too Faced's Sweet Peach is a branded palette compared to the Australis's Neutrlize, a drug store one but the Too Faced ones blends better.
Really, you gotta give it a try to know.

Left to Right. Progress.

Playing with make-up progressions.

I didn't get to where I am with make-up without trials and errors. There were pictures to prove that. LOL at the same time, I'm still learning. I only bought stuff where I can afford them. and I tried the cheapest one too just to have options, you know. Nowadays, seller in Brunei are bringing in many drugstore products from the US and Europe, so, more options to test out make-up if you want. I want but like i said earlier, I'm lazy. So, for now, I'm gonna stick to what I already have and work for me.

If you are starting out with make-up, here's an advice:
Be Patient!
and embraced those freaky eyebrows and blushed cheeks.
They'll be your stepping stones to better your technics.

Also, to note, some items are not mentioned here. I only mentioned a few to show what items I started with until now, to compare or to show progress.

I think, I'm gonna share something that people seldom share; Pictures with and without filters.

Obviously, the ones with filter are better. and I always said to myself, Pictures last forever, so gotta look good. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Thank you so much for reading this.

You the MVP.

I figured out something

First off,

I figured out something of Instagram when you log on thru their website (not from the App on your phone).

Remember last time I wanted to share with you guys a certain short clip I found on IG but wasn't able to upload the video here on blogspot?
Well,
I think I can now.

Let's do this.

Ok, you can't see this but the embedded copy has a lot of jargon and I prayed that it works.
coz I need it to work.
LOL
I need a post posted up tonight.
:P

*checked preview* *IT WORKS*

I hope it still works once I published this.

consider this a prologue to my next post. sorta.

ok. Bye

Challenge Accepted

μ•ˆλ…• μ—¬λŸ¬λΆ„

in light of my (other) current obsession,
I am challenging myself to learn some of my favorite korean songs.

the real challenge will be *drum rolls*
to only learn them reading the hangul lyrics.

Yup!
that is right!
ONLY the korean lyrics.

I'm still a very slow hangul reader but I'm pretty sure I can do it.

The first song I learned was Taeyeon's Fine
took me about a week to finally get the hang of reading the lyrics with the singing LOL
(start Mar 25th, so-so mastered Apr 4)
of course that one I learned with the help of the romanized lyrics too.

what I learned (berapa banyak perkatan 'learn' dahhhh) from that experienced is that
the romanized lyrics confused me.
coz I know how it supposed to sound (of course with the help of listening to the song too)
and the romanized spelling does not spell like how you supposed to pronounce it.
I'm not saying the romanized is not helping. it helped A LOT.
I'm saying its annoying when you confidently read the hangul and your eyes went down reading the romanized lyrics and it spelled different than what you were pronouncing.
*buat muka annoyed and mata ke atas*

Thus, I decided to challenge myself to learn my next song, BoA - μ˜† μ‚¬λžŒ (Stand By) full on hangul lyrics.

its a ballad. slow song.

you bet yo ass I can't read and sing Korean songs when its upbeat/laju/fast-beat.

antah apa ku baca, antah apa ku sabut. ( ̄。 ̄)

HAHAHAHAHA

take it one step at a time.

Plus,

it's not like I'm going for a competition with this *air* talent *quote*

¯\(©¿©) /¯

I'm just surprise that I'm not trying to learn SHINee songs first.

I guess I'm more comfortable singing girlie songs at the moment.

I mean, I'm not saying SHINee don't have good ballad to hafal, I'm just saying, I don't want to be greedy. LOL
●_●
seriously, I have no reason why their songs isn't on my list of songs to hafal, ok?

So...

another Lip Tint Story

Hi guys~
on to the second week of 2017
hows your year so far?

I can't complain.
not to a human being at least
but what I complain in my journal is completely different story altogether

anyway~

I'm going to review my second (new) lip tint.

this one is called Wine Lip Tint by Man Zi Miao (I think thats the owner/maker).

at the back (or another side) it says Lipgloss Water Proof : RD02 NEBBIOLO RED

the reason why I want it was because the cap was purple in color. I didn't know the packaging indicates the color red LOL!

i/ you shouldn't try and smear lip tint. coz it will stained your finger instead

(the white thingy is not booger :P its my make-up remover balm)

ii/ I realised that the color on the lips differ in different lighting

my room

My car

at the office

iii/ the tint dried matte and it does not transfer

iv/ like the previous tint, when putting a second coat, it becomes patchy/has dark spots.

v/ too bad it really is not 'water proof' coz the moment water touches my lips, the tint came off.
no picture here.

vi/ then I realized I don't have to use any of my make-up removers. I just rub my lips with water and the color will washes off. although not at once.

this is after I put a lipbalm on coz both this lip tint and the previous one isn't moisturizing like the packaging said.

see how very stained my lips were? I know thats the purpose of a lip tint but I would like it to be off when I want it off, namsayin?

My only peeve (with any lipstick/lip gloss/lip tint) is really the stain
but despite that,
Will I wear this again?
YES
coz I'm not about wasting
besides, I like how dark it gets under office lighting. kekeke
although I can not really use them during normal office hour coz dark shades lips isn't allowed for frontliners (a.k.a. to those who attend customer at the counter). that picture was taken on Saturday, not normal working day.

*shrug*
seriously, how do you end your post? how you phrase it?

̿̿’̿’\̵͇̿̿\=(•̪●)=/̵͇̿̿/’̿̿ ̿ ̿ ̿

Next, I feel like posting my Face Shop haul from November/December 2016 and January 2017.
reason: because I think I spent too much on the brand in less than two months

feel baru tu, alum action.
( ͡° ͜Κ– ͡°)

Pray for my rajin-ness.

Until then,
see yah~

pending DIY Project no.2

anndddddddd
here's another one.

this was done the Saturday (3rd Dec) before the Sunday (4th Dec) I went to Miri.

I've been putting off my Japan journal for so many times but that Saturday, I was feeling rajin and finally making an effort to start.
but as I was trying to make DIY pockets to attach in my current journal, I figured, my pockets will be too big for my current journal.
So I decided to make my own journal.

My sister shared me a video on FB and I watched it once before I started mine
but now when I look for it, the video was deleted.
like, *feeling so lost right now*

So, I guess, I'll just share my pictures then.

the video was actually a DIY photo album, with crafty/deco feel about it (suddenly lupa what it really calls XP)
but i figured, i could make it into a journal, however ways I want to be, right?

First, I cut off two set of manila paper as a front and back cover, making sure they are slightly bigger than a certain 'special' map.
after that I cut another smaller piece of manila card for the spine.
In the video, the lady actually used some hard board card for the cover and spice but since I don't know where I could find one here in Brunei, I just used the next best thing, manila card. they're tougher than normal paper anyway.

Next,
I attached all three paper using a colored paper (yellow), so that it'd be easier to bend.

then I used simple wrapping paper to cover the front and back.

I didn't capture the moment when I cut the paper off, only when I already wrapped them.

after that I made inner spines thingy.

the measurement was like, the bottom most is 14cm, the one after is 13.5cm, next is 13cm, after that 12.5cm and so on.
I think you can make how ever many you want. I made 16 pieces.
in the video, the lady made them with colored papers all the way but I only have a few colored papers, so I alternate mine with normal white paper.

Selepas itu, I  bend the paper like so

in the video, I'm supposed to bend like 2cm from outside edge of the paper. but what I actually did was bend the paper in half, and then bend again half on each side.
LOL
after I finished bending, I can see where my mistakes were.
but I was lazy to amend and I began gluing these pieces to the spine.

I used double-sided tape.
In the beginning, for the spine, I used some white glue but since it took ages to dry,
I used the double-sided tape, like the one the lady used (excessively) in the video.
turns out, her ways were a lot easier and faster LOL

few more pieces and I ran out off tape.

So, I went out to buy some. LOL sanggup~

this is the finish products.

Well, for the base, at least.

I'm supposed to attached paper on the spine. but since I havent got my Japan pictures printed yet,
I decided to left it as it is for now.

Yatah jua tu nah. pasal 'cuci gambar' ah. putting it on and off since the day I came back from the trip.
I need to get a move on.

Karang sampai the next trip and still balum cuci yg 2016 punya.

ah well..

once again, you'll know when I finish with this.

xD
