Halloween AGM

something to share..

we just had our BBRC AGM tadi. and the theme was Halloween.

I went as a witch. (a green m&m witch).

(yeah. aku bgmbr djamban sal rh hall galap)

I was upset. why? because, ALMOST EVERYBODY (those who actually cared to dress up) was a witch. and that hat that I wore, worn by 15(give or take) others. but luckily, mine was the only one yg hijau (orange was worn by the KB branch staff and the registration girl was wearing pink). but still, depress ku slajur...

Fiffy Faizah went as a red hot pirate. ia ada boifren. (a girl from BFB wore a male pirate costume. siap ngan beard lagi ahahah she looked awesome though).


what surprises me; things werent as scary as the one back in January, the BBB Annual dinner. it was a very light and pacah parut night, considering the theme was supposed to be 'scary'.

I don't know much about the food. I only had dim sum. I saw lamb chop (or whatever. i know atu kambing sja..looks yummy), soup mamak, dessert looks yummy too, and..dim sum..ahaha I was hungry went I got there, and i drank two glasses of oren campur before the show started and everybody know that I shouldn't coz I'd be very kanyang soon after. tsk. atu tadi. kanyang smpi mkn dim sum sja...but now, while composing this, aku lapar sangat...tsk..

the decoration was not bad. I find it cosy rather than spooky.


I thought it'd be super lame but turned out, it was ok. I laughed so hard till i had a stomach cramped. LOL! i havent laugh like that for a VERY long time. jinjja...

SHINee vs Westlife

Udah drg kn 'split' ani, banyak plang post ku on Westlife.
dude, I did post about them (many) once in (many) while.
ahaha

and today's post was actually made on August 19, 2011. I only managed (or should I say, 'only rajin') to copy and paste this here. It was first drafted on my phone. xD

I had the idea roaming inside my head for awhile until I couldn't stand it and drafted it on my phone. I planned on posting it a couple/ few days later but I didn't. (nama nya jua inda rajin..apa kn daya...LOL!)

So, here I am today. comparing my beloved in my own opinion and on what i've observed so far. and I noticed I was comparing them based on their live performances (mainly vocally) only.

here goes;


Onew vs. Shane
best of them lead vocalist. esp during live performances. It's like you're hearing them straight off the records. Effortless. and when singing classical songs (Onew singing trot while Shane sang that RapPack album) their voices change into deep ones.


Jonghyun vs. Mark
lead vocal. again, with live performances. Studio version, their voices were so amazing and captivating. Both have unique singing ability. Have some kind of 'soul' vibe to it. But during live performances, as good as their vocal go, it still wavers and a bit off sometimes. Markie has improved a lot over the years (duhh..ten years in the business with thousands of sold out concerts, what do you think?!) and I'm sure Jonghyun will be too as he progresses.



Key vs. Bryan (yes, I'm referring to the 5-membered Westlife)
they're not one of the best out of the five but they still sing more lines than the other two that i havent mention. their key/tone of voice change depending on the music/feel/mood of a song.



Minho - Kian
Kian hardly sings but he covered Bryan's part when Bryan's not around. Minho hardly sings; he mostly rap. Both CAN sing. Obviously or they wouldnt be in there in the first place, would they? Not as great as Key or Bryan but they still can carry a tune.


Taemin - Nicky
I can not compare dancing here coz (heck!) the world knows that Westlife is NOT a dancing group. They do dance on tour but that can't be compared to SHINee style of dancing, can it?
Thus, we moved on. Both has that husky kinda voice going on and actually can pull off tunes better than Minho or Kian. The only major diff is that Taemin was/is given the opportunity to do alot of lines (esp in their Japanese releases) while Nicky was hardly given any. So, Taemin's singing is so much better than Nicky. although, if our Nico was given the same opportunity, he'd be just as good or maybe even better (given the advantage of him being in the business for more than a decade). I just wish them writers and producers of Westlife will give Nico (and Kino) more lines to sing.

I love both groups.

Love Westlife more for I've known them the longest and they've been a part of me since the beginning of my teen years. They are a part of me, forever.

Not loving SHINee any less to be comparing them with Westlife but hoping they'd be as great as Westlife in their own way. If Westlife is great for their music/voice/melody, I hope SHINee will be too thru their music/dancing of their own style.
Though I hope no one in SHINee is gonna leave the group coz that's be like, super deja vu moment for me and the devastation would be huge (or not since I've been thru it once, I'm sure I'm gonna be able to handle it the second time around).

How was yr day? mine was not quite eventful.

today's post gona be about, Westlife.

yes, that's right. Westlife.

I was mad and retweeted a post by msn-something and said, 'Seriously, get yr fact right'. turns out, I should've said that to myself.

the post was titled 'Irish Boyband announcing split after 14 years'. i didn't believe it until the official facebook page mentioned about the Greatest Hits Tour next year and that, that's the final tour for the fans.


I felt...upset.

One, I missed their 2011 Asia Tour. Now, I don't think they'll be doing another for the Greatest Hits Tour although all of them tweeted saying, 'see you next time' or 'until next time'...

sigh.

Two, well..are you kidding me? even though I wasn't as obsess as I was back in 2000, they're still a big part of me. like, HUGE. you wouldn't believe how my life revolve around them all those years back in high school up till form 6.
Westlife is my first Love/Obsession/Heartbreak(well, psl cBrian plang ni..not all Westlife..LOL!)/understanding of family values/tradition of buying Original audio CDs/understanding of becoming a real fan.
I could not express just how much Westlife means to me.

Three, will they continue to tweet after they are no longer Westlife the Band? I hope they do. coz i'd be missing a chunk of my life if they stopped.

Four, I was super depressed when Brian McFadden left the band back in 2004 (only because he was my favorite xP) but how I'm feeling right now is beyond that. there'll be no more album to look out to. no more stressing out about whether or not they'll be doing another cover songs. no obsessing over their asian tour dates. Just. no more Westlife.

Five, I know I have not been 'obsessing' over them these past few years (esp now that i'm crazy about the Kpop world xP) but I listened to them everyday. they are the most songs I have in my iPhone. I know, you thought it'd be Korean songs, right? you thought wrong. my Westlife collections are far more greater than any other of my collections. EVEN Korean songs are beneath their greatness. So, from dmalam onwards, every time their songs got played, I go, 'they're really calling it quits'

Six, before I declare myself a Korean, I've always been an Irish. always. (ok ok. I'm Bruneian. that I know. it goes without saying. durrhhh..I'm talking about fanatic terms here..)

Seven, i think the teasing is gona be worst. (-____-)" esp from my siblings. they've always teased me about Westlife. always. and Now that they're splitting up and going about their on ways, my brother is gona be having a party. tsk. #ihatemylife

Eight, Shane just started twitter. it upsets me that he's gona stop using it once Westlife is over. well, unless his wife, Gillian, told him to keep tweeting. (PLEASE MRS.FILAN. TELL HIM NOT TO STOP TWEETING!)

Nine, (am supposed to do this until no. 14 in honor of Westlife gorious years AND their 14 UK No. 1 hits.) I think this is the part where I'm accepting facts.

Hows yr day? Good? Hope its better than mine. Mine was a tad bit boring and tiring.

since I have a habit of posting up randoms, today's topic would be regarding..cooking.

anyhoo...

I think, I'm a fair cook. and can actually be a 'Good' cook if I try just a little bit harder.

think is, I'm such a lazy ass.

ahaha not that am proud. I'm at this age where I should be starting to be better. but noh..am still here, doing nothing about it.

I know I can bake too. I follow instructions thoroughly and rightfully (up to the point of annoying the people yg mdgni mbuat msa atu wawawa). I mean, there's a reason there's an instruction, right? to be followed..well, ok..for them who'd done it before, ok lah not to follow but I'm a newbie, i NEED to follow.

I learned along the way about how to cook 'traditional' dishes. and the only 'traditional' that my mom ever made is one that she improvised (which I SOOOO love btw). she made it so simple but yet, still very kampung-like. NOT that aku pernah cuba buat. :S

One that interest me; would be pasta. for example, Spagetti. wawawaw so easy man! NOT that I ever actually made one. my mom's and sister's are the best (of course, mom's the bestest). I only managed to make that Chicken or Tuna + Mayo + Macaroni. it's so easy, fast, and fatty. i love fatty food. ahaha

Do you know that I only learned to cook nasi at the age of fourteen (form 2)? No? now you know. ahaha tym posa tu. my mom taught me. and do you know when I learned to masak magi goreng? ahaha as early as I can remember; tym darjah masih. goreng ayam and talor pun as early as I can remember.

Do you know that I have problem frying fish? only because they got burn so easily and they're not as thick-skinned as chicken, so i get confuse. ahahaha

I actually suck at frying. I can never get them right. slightly uncook (which made me always cut through the skin to see if there's still blood and fry them again if there is) or slightly burnt. sausages and nuggets and fish fingers tu, ok lah..atu pro ku sudah menggoreng tu...

which is why I like pasta. So easy. no burning.

what else? oh. I only know how to cook one sayur; bayam. LOL! and it's so simple too. like, air, pati ayam, talor, bayam. wawawa

(coz it surprises me seeing all this harsh comments like, 'Jessica is Ugly' <-- I couldn't agree more MUAHAHAH!, 'disappointed', 'not impress', etc, etc..) Ok bah~ ..what more do you want?

but I guess i'd feel the same way too (since, i think, this is how i feel towards SuJu's 5th album :S ). Your expectations were high and when the album came out, you were like, -____-" literally.

I was desperate for a new song on my iPhone and I went browsing for songs via youtube last night.

haha yg cali nya, i was listening FIRST to her bestfriend's (Selena Gomez) songs but nothing catches me. :S n then I remembered bout the standing innovation that Lovato received during that DSA (Do Something Awards) singing Skyscraper. not really a fan of that song but she was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.there. *applause*

and as always, you tend to end somewhere else when u're browsing youtube and I ended up on her official youtube channel, watching this 'A Letter to My Fan' vid and attracted to the background song.

and that led me to listening to her entire Unbroken album.

and that album ROCKS!

and currently addicted to Give Your Heart a Break. xD (already 22 counts on my itunes and still going. i have it on repeat as I was typing this post xP)

when I listened to Mistake's intro I was like, 'eh!' why? because SNSD (So Nyuh Shi Dae) had a cover on that song. edited: yes. I'm rajin to post this up. hee and personally, I like SNSD version more but only because I listened to their version first and already able to singalong with it (main hantam though, asal sama bunyi nya..HAHAHAH!)
