I want to quickly get this out of the way before I continue with my final entry for my KL Trip.
xD
let's get on with today's topic;
a Little Taken Aback by This.
as many know, I like to browse youtube.
currently, my obsession is looking up video for Solo Traveler to Japan.
thus, it make sense when below video pops up as a recommendation
Now, you know I've been to Japan back in 2016 and was so in love with that trip that I planned on going back in 2018.
but let's now watch the video first before you read my next set of thoughts.
First of all,
that hurts.
Second of all,
I think I understand what he meant.
I don't know which part I was most offended on, coz in all honesty, I didn't bother looking for muslim-friendly places while planning for my trip. all I care about is looking for the cheapest hostel!
Back in 2016, I noticed all the things he said, about Japanese being scared.
We were being stopped at the airport once we stepped out of the immigration.
then on the train, there were EMERGENCY ALERT posted on the train monitor. the National Security is on high alert it says. I already thought that it was becoz of us when I first saw it.
Yes, there are people who looked at us dari atas ke bawah.
but apart from those awkward experiences, people don't really care about us. I mean, time kami bejalan to the station, buying food in the convenient stores, boarding the train. Nobody took a second glance at us. PLUS there are a lot more kind people I met than the judging/scared glance people.
Japanese really is a polite country, if you project the same.
It is true when he said, Japan isn't really Muslim-Traveler friendly.
Even when you try to Google, there aren't much.
of course lah ada muslim friendly eatery but still those places aren't that easy to get to, at least not to first timer.
From my recent research, Osaka has a lot of Muslim friendly eatery popping up this year and 2018.
even so, masih limited lah.
anyway,
when you watch the video from start to finish, you are gonna hate Mr. Nobita.
LOL
that's my initial reaction, at least.
I was mostly thinking "and you continued to be ignorant?!"
but then again,
it's not like I'm gona live in Japan forever.
I'm mostly gona be there for at least a week at a time. and all becoz of Harry Potter and Disneyland.
So, I get what he was trying to say;
1. they are just scared. which is natural. I mean, I would too. better be safe than sorry.
2. it seems illogical to work so hard to accommodate a group of people who would probably just gona be there for a week. or sekali atu saja they visit Japan.
3. They can't just throw away their culture just for short-term visitors.
it's like when we want people to respect our home when they come around.
yes, we try to make our guest feel comfortable but that doesn't mean they can just do whatever they want or be too demanding, right?
so yeah... I understand.
but I'm afraid, I'm a little scared to go to Japan now.
LOL
I hope Universal Studio Singapore would have the rights to build their own Wizarding World of Harry Potter soon.
Kalau bukan kerana Harry Potter, I wouldn't be this worked up about going to Japan, banar tah.
hahaha odahnya...
but seriously, Mr. Nobita can say whatever he wants and I can be offended and decided upon never setting foot in Japan anymore.
After all, the world doesn't revolve around any of us and Japan will remain one of the top choices for female solo travel to go to.
I just wish I didn't watch the video.

2026, in search of Happiness. If it means enjoying every little trinkets and stationery on the daily, then so be it. Coz temporary happiness, is still happiness.

Lesson Learned 2.015
You learn something new everyday.
I sure learned a lot about myself in recent weeks.
that I am not a complete arse.
LOL
Last Monday I learned that Chinese beliefs that its bad luck to right your name in red ink.
I forced a customer to sign our acknowledgment form with a red ink pen.
She asked me hesitantly whether I have any other colored pen beside the red one that I just lend her. I told her 'no' and she briefly said to me that there's a 'pantang' for them to write in red ink. I was like, 'Oh' and nodded but I was very malas to go to my table to retrieve a different colored pen thus she, ever so reluctantly, signed and with a very obvious pause, write down her name (although she wrote it bersambung2, very unclear) too.
When our transaction was done at the counter and I returned to my table, I straight away told my colleague about what just happened and the colleague, who is also Chinese, told me about the beliefs. and I felt guilty. Like, what if the customer met an unfortunate event after what I just made her do?
Now, I know I don't really belief that but I was guilty all the same and since what happened can't be undone, I do the next logical thing. I put 5 blue colored pen at our counter so that what happened with her won't have to happen to the next person.
I maybe a skeptic but she has her beliefs too. the least I can do is to respect that.
So,
Lesson Learned: always bring blue colored pen when attending customer for signing acknowledgement.
I normally do but i don't know why I didn't that day and had to resort with the red ink pen I saw on the counter. hmm.. sorry, customer. I will try my best not to let that happen again. *scout honor*

Please Understand
I know I've said this one before, but I'm just gona say it again. (or write it down)
Just because I WORK IN a Bank, doesn't mean I OWN the bank.
Unless the bank's name is AJEERAH BANK BERHAD, mana saja tah ya.
I'm still just a kuli, ok?
I just want people to understand that.

Understood

Baby you're so beautiful
and When I'm near you I can't breathe
A girl like you gets what she wants
when she wants it
You're so out of my league
I show you no emotion
Don't let you see what you're doing to me
I imagine the two of us together
but I've been living in reality
Fear of rejection
kept my love inside
but time is running out
so damn my foolish pride
I don't care if you think I'm crazy
It doesn't matter if it turns out bad
I've got no fear of losing you
You can't Lose what you never had
Now I'm gonna confess that I love you
I've been keeping it inside
feeling I could die
now If you turn away baby
that's ok
at least we'll have a moment before you say goodbye
you can't lose what you never had
Rules are made for breaking
Nothing ventured, nothing gained
I'll be no worse off than I am right now
and I may never get that chance again
Fear of rejection
kept my love inside
I told my heart I didn't want you
but I lied
I don't care if you think I'm crazy
It doesn't matter if it turns out bad
I've got no fear of losing you
You can't Lose what you never had
Now I'm gonna confess that I love you
I've been keeping it inside
feeling I could die
now If you turn away baby
that's ok
at least we'll have a moment before you say goodbye
Here on the outside looking in
Don't wana stay dreaming bout what could have been
need to hear you speak my name
even if you shoot me down in flame
I don't care if you think I'm crazy
It doesn't matter if it turns out bad
I've got no fear of losing you
You can't Lose what you never had

Westlife - Can't Lose what You never had.
after more than a decade, I finally understand this song. Generally speaking I understand it lyrically but now I know how it feels.
Imagine that... 12 years later...dum dumm dummm..ahahah
but I'm not about to do anything crazy and follow their advice. I'm a still a girl, full of insecurity. and probably not gona be able to handle rejection well.
ahahahahahah
ha.
the song was about him trying to tell her how he feels and no matter what he's gonna do it.
In my case, the idea of me telling him about it is ... *shudders* ... scary berry.
SO, I'm just gona sit here and said to myself that since I never had him, I'm never gona lose him. I think it's better that way... yes, it hurts. Slowly but gradually, I'm getting there (getting over him). I've been having this feeling for years, you don't expect me to just *snap fingers* over it. it'll take times. I'm hoping that it doesn't take all the time in the world too.
