Cheap Coffee for Me

I am not a coffee lover and I don't think I ever will

BUTT

I do make an exception.

Remember that time I was spending every Saturdays at Starbucks? was it in 2019? I stopped when the pandemic hits in 2020. When things turned back to somewhat normal, I lepak there again like a couple of times but that was it.

There's not much option for non-coffee drinker there. I often ordered like the mango juice and rapsberry tea or something and the occasional non coffee seasonal drinks.

I forgot what this was but it was that seasonal flavored ones.

They have the choco drink with chocolate chip frappe going on but by the time I started lepak-ing in Starbucks, I was so done with that drink; The chunkiness of the choco chip annoys me. Until my friend suggested Caramel Macchiato. I mean, coffee but ok. and I actually enjoyed it. You can barely taste the coffee. Just milk and sweetness. Bearable for my taste bud.

Fast forward to 2021 and I haven't lepak in Starbucks for a longgg taimmm. I went there via drivethru in the middle of a secondwave and was craving for their Salted Caramel Cheese cake (another favorite that I like to order time lepak). So I ordered that together with my fav drink, Caramel Macchiato. buii...cost me around $13-$14. Laik whatttt...but craving punya pasal, I bedal je.

The next time tho, I was about to run some errands and thought of buying something to drink. The easiest way to get this drink without having to search for parking and jalan and all that jazz was to go to a drive thru and for my route, Starbuck came to mind but I was adamant to not spent $7-$8 for a drink.

So, I came up with a solution.

and I am here to share.

Here's what you need:

a tumblr (I am sure everyone has at least one of these or something similar) and put ice (don't tell me you don't have a freezer) in it.

and a corner shop / mini mart bought drink of your choice.

and voila!

Iced Caramel Macchiato.

Cost? $1.20

Taste? Similar.

When I thought of this, I was thinking about buying the bottle size Mr. Brown Caramel Coffee. But when I went into that corner shop and saw Mr. Brown has Caramell Macchiato, tarus lah ku bali.

Moral of the story? It's time for me to cut down on my food expenses. There are cheaper version of things. Yea, they may taste so-so (I'm thinking of sushi hereπŸ˜‚) but it's still there.

Lets just match our food crave with our wallet.

That's for me. πŸ˜—

double cleansing

May 19th, 2018 11:45am

Korean double cleansing method / routine.

I was looking for the comparison between

Son and Park Beauty Water

and

AHA/BHA Cosrx Toner.

I'm on the look out to buy new toner coz my current one is running low (well, not really, but soon).

So, I Googled but no one made that comparison, yet.

Then I Googled reviews for the Son and Park Beauty Water instead since I already put an order in my Yesstyle kart (I have seen so many times the hype of this product on IG and Facebook. I thought I'd give it a try). I just wanted to know for sure if I should be purchasing the Beauty Water or the Cosrx Toner.

So after reading one of the review here (its kinda a little bias review in my opinion), I understand the function of the Beauty Water and set on buying one next week on payday.
Also, while reading, I came across the term 'double cleansing'.
My curiosity cat got the best of me, thus I Googled that too.

Read Here

AND!

*MIND BLOWN*

I got that sense of deja-vu / wakeupcall / shook / totalrecall you name it, I had it!

Flashback!

Masa awal2 I owned  a BB cushion, I used it on a daily basis, maybe for a week before (you've guessed it) I became lazy. LOL.

So for that one week, as soon as I got home, I would start to prep my mind about cleaning my face. thoroughly. (Yes. I'm that lazy that doing this extra cleaning of my face after makeup session had me prepping my mind first before I prep for the pyhsical cleaning things LOL!)

  • Step 1 - Remove make-up with cleansing cream. apply generously on skin and massage gently for a couple of minute and once done, wipe off face with tissue.
  • Step 2 - wash face normally with water. you know, that normal thing we do to clean our face on the daily.
  • Step 3 - dry face, apply essence-toner-cream.
  • Done
NOTE: this is my normal practice ever since I know how to put on make-up even if its just a BB cream. I especially have to do this extra-extra cleansing after full on make-up by MUA for an event or function, etc.

At that time, I always thought to myself, "I like it when I wear make-up, coz my skin become clear with all these cleansing" and I can see it too. how clear my skin was getting.
My skin is a combination of oily and acne prone, so when I said clear, I mean very VERY clear looking skin.
but as you already know, I am not rajin with using daily makeup!
I hate the idea of cleaning my face SO thoroughly.
it's tiring and toooo much work!

End of Flashback.

SO, as I came across this double cleansing method today, I FINALLY UNDERSTAND!
I DID DOUBLE CLEANSING WHEN I WEAR MAKEUP!
I FINALLY UNDERSTAND WHY MY SKIN FEELS SO GREAT AFTER THAT HARD WORK OF CLEANING SO THOROUGHLY!
I UNDERSTAND NOW!

meaning,
I can just do my 'thoroughly cleaning my face after using makeup' routine on a daily basis even when I dont wear makeup.

argh

you mean to say! I could have gotten a glass glow dewy skin like 5-6 years ago when I first came across cleansing cream from Holika-Holika?!
i am so pissed right now, I laughed like crazy.
hahaha

the Holika Holika cleansing cream, the daily garden one.

at that time, I only ever thought about how great it was as a makeup remover. the best EVER! I especially love how they 'melts' waterproof mascara and remove them with just a few swipes after I left the cream on my lashes for couple of minutes.

I also once bought this cleansing balm. this one is pretty thick, the texture is like vaseline only slightly lighter than.

Gonyak Soft Moisture Cleansing Balm
but at the time of purchase, i wasn't so rajin wearing makeup thus this one just sat there in my drawer most of the time, regrettably, until expired :S

The Face Shop has a similar products

Herb Day Cleansing Cream, in Green Tea
(this has four flavors apparently; Green Tea, Aloe, 5 Combined Cereal, and Fruit Mix.)

which I'm currently using for removing my make up. just as BEST! as the Holika Holika's one.

sigh

I could have gotten a glass dewy skin look by now~

ah well

Now that I know about this, I'm gonna make a new routine;

Cleansing cream - facial wash - essence - toner - cream.

Korean flawless glass dewy skin, here I come!

. . .

I realized I've posted 3 skin care routine and products posts with no picture of my face to show the before and after differences.
I need to be a better blogger.

LOL!

and after proofreading this the third time, I never actually done any reading on the Cosrx Toner. LOL!

hashtag so much for trying to find comparison!

Productivity

Last last weekend, I decided to delete my new Story (well, not so new) I posted on AFF (stands for Asianfanfics.com if you don't already know).

I posted this last chapter

and as you can see, I was informing my 4 subscribers that I'm deleting the story soon.

but the next morning, when I opened my AFF tab, I saw someone subscribed to my story.
I was supposed to delete it in a few hours but I posted the above late and faktor umur, I slept earlier than I planned to and had to do it the next morning.
As any writer would be, I was happy and had a second thought about deleting the story.

So,
I reread the story (the one that I already posted).

and I was surprised.
I was actually doing pretty good (if I can say so myself).
I say this because I've been telling myself that my layout or how I laid the words are crappy.
the fact that I only have 4 subscribers since I published it on 5th Apr 2015, makes me believe that I'm a crappy writer.

but as I was reading the second chapter, I thought to myself, "This is actually pretty good"
well, not JK Rowling good but you know, good enough for me and I'm actually satisfied with what I have posted.

then, I wondered, why was I so negative before?

I guess, it was the same issue that I had here, in blogspot
I was thinking too much about what other people think or how they would take this or how many comments I would get.
The fact that people are all over EXO in fanfics right now and all the older SHINee fans isn't on AFF anymore, demotivate me to continue posting my story.
the fact that I was lazy and procrastinating af isn't helping either.
I think too much about what other people think.
I should go back to being me and post what I want and how I want to.

Seriously,
I need to take my own advise into accounts these days.
I've been EVERYWHERE.
as in, my mind isn't here nor there. same goes to my heart.
I don't know.
I need to keep it all together.
I need to get back up and be me.

In regards to my AFF story, I'm going to hide it from public views until such time when I am ready to properly commit to regularly update it.

. . .

disclaimer: I'm not saying I'm going to change straight away. this thing needs time and patient. and I'm trying. please be proud of me trying to better myself instead of judging on how I do things. As i posted once on Facebook, "Just because I'm doing it my way, doesn't mean that I'm doing it wrong"

Spare Time

I bet you don't know that in my spare time,
I sometimes listen to documentaries on youtube.
I said 'listen' becoz that's what I normally do when I played a documentary video on youtube. Played the video, ignore the moving video and just listened to the audio.

this habit of playing documentary videos from youtube came when I was dead bored with the songs I have on my phone.

I've watched many documentaries including British Royal's jewelries, first and last Emperor of China, the Pharaohs, the Last Tsar of Russia, and most recent, French Revolution.

the most interesting videos I've ever watched were the eight episodes documentary named The Romanovs, the History of the Russian Dynasty.

the above video is the trailer. you can click here for the first episode if you're interested.

I read somewhere in the comment box that this documentary have a Russian version. someone commented that once you finish the English version, you should watch the Russian version with Eng Sub. I haven't got the 'rajin-ness' to do that. since, you know, I mostly listen to this documentaries and its not convenient for me to be reading subtitles especially when I'm at work.

I don't know what I gained from listening to these documentaries. It's not like I'm going to sit in an exam for the Romanovs History.

but I did learn some thing interesting.
this Russian royals kehabisan membagi nama to their anak2
and most females who converted to the Russian orthodox also so malas to pick new names.

example:
Alexander - there were 3 Alexander(s) that ruled Russia
Nicholas - there were 2 including the Last Tsar of Russia, Nicholas the Second
Peter -  there were 3 including Peter (i) the Great.

there were also many Alexandra(s), Maria(s), Catherine(s), Olga(s), Anna(s)

apparently Alexander is for male and Alexandra is for female. See how lazy these name are??

here's another example of 'Kehabisan Nama':
Paul I sons - Alexander (i), Constantine, Nicholas (i)
Nicholas I sons - Alexander (ii), Constantine, Nicholas, Michael
Alexander II sons - Alexander (iii), Sergui, Paul, Vladamir Ok fine, this one is a bit original
Alexander III sons - Nicholas (ii), Michael

Maybe to them these are the names of the royals. you know, like the British royals with the name George.
I don't know.
Maybe its all the names they know back in the day.
no Google to check.
οΌ―(≧▽≦)οΌ―

You all must be thinking I'm sharing something educational here.
maybe.
but really, the reason why this post was made was because of the name choice.
the moment i realized they used the same name over and over again, I just had to make a post out of it.
〜(^∇^〜)(〜^∇^)〜

I have one other documentary movie that I watched that made me go "what the hell did I just watch?!" when the movie finished.

I will share that in my next post.

for now, here's a list of Russia related movies that you need to watch if you haven't already:
1. Salt - Angelina Jolie
2. Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol - Tom Cruise and that Hawkeye guy, Jeremy Renner
3. Anastasia (1997) - my absolute fav!
