they're just bags but I'm torn!

yiss, sis is back!

I love bags! not necessarily branded ones, coz if I could find a cheaper copy of it, i would just buy. coz money don't grow on trees. unfortunately.

and recently, a friend posted on her IG Story of this bag that I find very lawa..like, the shape is soooo my style! 

BUT sadly, its by a brand that I no longer support!

argh. why

I even went on a mini discussion about the bag with said friend, all the while thinking "but I no longer support this brand". I feel ashamed when I said to her "we might have matchy bag soon!" her respond to me that made me guilty? she shared with me discount codes from some local influencers. 😖 I am sorry girlie. I lied. She was excited too. aww bless her precious heart.

I mean, I'm not saying never. I'm still sleeping on it. I mean, I have been for a week. lol. but I can't go back to my words. my sister even said the pricing is decent. for an indie brand. well, they're not really indie, but you know, not Gucci or LV. so, I guess 🤷🏻‍♀️.

My bestie on the other hand, "If you buy that bag, find new friend" LOL coz he's not supporting for a different reason from mine. 

For backstory purposes, I never was a hard core supporter before. I only ever own two items from this brand, a tudung and scarf bag. but atu pun because the brand collaborated with our Crown Princess, Princess Sarah. Honestly, if it weren't for that collab, I don't think I would ever buy anything from them, coz its just a head scarf and it cost astronomical? and when they released that collab, I just had my bonus paid out, and I thought, why not? the dumbest purchase ever to be very honest. LOL I only ever used it twice! DUA. KALI. SAHAJA. pasal apa nah? the material was so flimsy that certain areas are ruined due to the pins/clips used on it. I mean, I don't know how you gonna keep your tudung stay in place without the pins/clips. So, yeah. that tudung is now in its box. collecting dust.

Why I am not supporting this brand anymore? this one kinda, personal. She was releasing her own brand of telekung (head scarfs and skirt you use during prayer) and I don't know the full story to be honest but I saw her post on my explore page where she judge people who sell a knock off version of that telekung (apparently her brand is so popular that they got copied to a more affordable price for other people who can't afford the overprice telekung). I understand you were upset that people are technically stealing from you, butt..

She brought up dosa pahala di sana atu and you know how I feel about people who talked like its their job to collect peoples deeds. Like, I can do the same about you sis but I'm gonna keep that to myself. It really was becoz of that one post that I stop admiring her collections and ultimately stop supporting?

one time I went to her shop, dangani my cousin who wanted to buy something, back in 2018, and saw her stationery collections. I, avid fanatics' of stationery that I am, gotta have a look at them, and was surprise at how similar looking the stapler was with Typo's, an Aussie brand (I think its Aussie brand)? like, did you buy from them and slapped your brand on it? why? the price was a lot more expensive than Typo's too. why?

ANYWAY

Yeah, I am torn. I still stand by what I said about why I stop 'supporting'. but why bag so lawa and my style?! whyyy

Now, I might have to buy the other bag that I've been wanting since last year but never got the chance to purchase yet, coz price.

again, sooo my style! I just like this shape ok. I don't know why. I mean, I like other shape too. I don't know man, sometimes, its just that first glance love kinda thing but really this shape and style? Mine mine mine!

This friend is also sooo precious! we talked at a length about the bag and once again, I was encouraged to buy. but when I found out the price, I was like, err..maybe not now? LOL 

I mean, I could splurge but at that time I was like, "I should use this money for travelling overseas" lol

but after the above situation, I think, I'm better off buying Fossil? coz brand reputation and ranks? I'm not sure anymore.

WHY BAGS HAVE TO BE BRANDED AND EXPENSIVE?!

Ok lah. I did buy 3 known brands, MK, Longchamp, and that Anello backpack. MK's my most expensive I've ever owned and still in mean condition after 4 years? my Longchamp a little battered coz I used this bag when I travel a lot. my Anello backpack is a little new and only been used for travel once.

The rest of my bags? cheap cheap only. Ok, my Harry Potter bags are not cheap. the shipping cost alone is crazy but I'm also a crazy person for HP merchandise so..

I guess quality over quantity? and to have better quality, we gotta pay more?

This post went from 'Not supporting this brand but I want the bag' to 'but the one I wanted for so long is expensive tho' real quick. LOL

sigh.

In conclusion,

I won't go back on my words. earlier brand's bag cost BND130. If I save up some more, I'd be able to buy the Fossil's Rachel Satchels.

So, yeah..as lawa the bag is, as guilty I am towards my lovely friend, I just can't.

I mean, I could just buy and not care what other people think of my fickle conflicted decision/opinion but I wouldn't be able forgive myself for going back on my words over a BAG!

like my uda (uncle) once said, he said it in Malay but in English, it loosely translate to, "Self integrity"

I know, left this blog for a while.
becoz, I haven't got the motivation to post.

Not that I have any now but I guess, lets just do it!

So,
I thought I share with you guys about my first ever love;

LONDON!

I think why 'loving London' is so embedded in me is becoz ever since EVER, London or UK has always been the it destination for success. It was what everyone talked about back then. 
Aunties would talk non-stop when their children flew there to continue their education, etc.

I wasn't one of them. not academically, at least.

I went to the UK in 2009 for two weeks.

I remember the talk I had with one of the tellers when I withdrew my money (via counter at that time) before belayar. He asked me why am I taking out so much money and I told him for my vacation. and he asked me where, I said UK and he said, "jauh jua vacation ani".
LOL
I find it funny now coz 
1. I don't think teller should be asking me why I'm withdrawing money from my OWN account.
2. mind your own business.

That was 8 years ago.

Nowadays, I'm not as obsess with UK as I was before.
I've opened my heart to other countries/places, the most current one being, Japan!

but that doesn't mean I don't love London still.

I mean, for example, with tudung, if I have to choose between London theme print with Paris theme print, I would, in a heartbeat, choose London theme. coz, I don't get Paris and her Eiffel Tower. #nohateplease#LOL

and more recently, I bought a new bag, which I love so much!
I feel like I've been looking for a new bag (bought a couple but to no satisfaction) and when I finally saw this bag, I'm just, "you are everything that I didn't know I was looking for" to put it a dramatic way.
hahahaha
but seriously!
that's how I feel with this new bag.

So, on 7th February, I decided to dress surrounding my bag theme.

I wore dark blue with red/white square-dots print, a black with tiny white anchor print, and my London-associates-theme tudung.

accessories? my London-theme watch and my bag (of course).

Wore red lipstick coz red.

I bought this, days before I finally decided on buying my bag. hahaha my thoughts were "matching sama my future bag" hahaha I'm an obsessive person!

I miss UK

and I can't post any of my pictures from that trip online anymore.

coz I was not wearing tudung or Hijab back then. ('cool' people of Brunei been calling 'tudung' hijab these days. i think it's just fake. . i will make this argument some other time) 

anyway

I thought about going back but I thought to myself,
"I've been to the UK once, why not spend money to visit other country?"
That's why I pick Japan as my next place to travel to. but that trip is not until September. So..

Last January, I bought a handmade handbag from 'Great Britain'. 
just to show how much i love the UK.


weak excuse, I know. but i really want it!

Story time;
I first saw this bag from a friend who posted it on Instagram. 
what caught me was that it had my friend's name embossed on it. I thought, "that's nice"
The next time I saw such bag was when I was at the Mall. the embossing of a name on someone's bag caught my eyes. once again i thought, "bisai jua ah"
and since then, I want it too. because I'm that Asian whose name is hardly ever on a pre-embossed name on anything and this personalize embossing thing is my thing!

After sometimes, I came across this page on instagram with same type of bags with personalize embossing thing. the company is called, The Cambridge Satchel Company.
I don't know how long I've been following them (and the agony to endure the pain of seeing their precious bags and not being able to purchase them yet!) it must've been a year or something. it was too long!

When I finally decided to buy the bag, it took me one whole week just X-ing the check out page and 'sleep on it'.

One week had passed and Thursday came and finally I bought the bag (during office hour coz I is Management. I do what I want muahahaha). I was anxious for the entire transaction. i received email indicating they have received my order and will process it within 3 days. but the next day, Friday, I received another email saying that my bag is on its way. and that I'll receive it Tuesday the next week.

by Tuesday morning, I did received a call from the local Fedex company saying my parcel had arrived and that they couldn't deliver it to my house (for whatever reason. i think coz to my house, it was not an easy access *muka confuse berabis*). Excited as I was, i told the person to just deliver it to my office.
i waited all day for it but the fedex guy never came and i was really disappointed! coz Fedex is supposed to be super fast! and the fact that I shopped at Zalora.com the previous week and already received my parcels exactly four days after that as promised, disappoint me more.

I was told, "sabar sja. maybe isuk durang antar" So, bersabar i did.

The next morning, finally the fedex guy came with my parcel and i was so happy that I couldn't even hide my grin! 


I opened it during my lunch break, in my car. taking pictures and just ... very excited.






it's actually very simple and classic looking.



the one yg I bought is actually pretty small for my standard of bags (coz I usually bought huge bags that can fit just about everything..)



but the color is nice! (i think it was called tea rose)
and it has my name on it!
at first I wanted to put 'AZ' but my sister has the same first name (yes, 'Az' is my first name. Second is 'Nuur' and third is 'Ajeerah') and I didn't want her to claim it. 


hahaha it's a joke we both had since forever. will tell you on the future blog entries (kalau ku ingat jua tu LOL)

all in all. it was an awesome feeling. like receiving a present. from me. to me.



and now,
I don't have to miss UK any more.
at least, not so much.

came 15 days after purchase. fairly quick compared to my ebay orders which  mostly came a month or even much later! after purchase. 

Yayy me!! I'll be wearing new bag tomorrow~~
