DIY progress

Well, not really a progress.
more like, a start.
LOL

I posted some times ago that I wanted to DIY my phone cases using fake whipped cream with decodens.

Eg:

I bought the 'decodens'.

I couldn't buy the fake whipped cream online coz apparently I couldn't 'bring' liquid substance into the country via mail (I don't really know how the immigration works but that's what I understand).

So I ended up making my own (following instruction from youtube videos) fake whipped cream
and that didn't really work out (coz I think I put too much of a certain ingredient into the mixture).

I made the above casing and let it dry for at least 3 days but on the 4th day, the 'clay' part pilled off the case and broke into two.
So, that was the end of my whipped-cream-design case.
I have not try to make a new batch coz I sayang to waste the rest of my air dry clay. LOL nanti tah, when I rajin to experiment. again.

So, I moved on to my second idea of DIY case; Bedazzled!

I bought the square shaped 'beads' from ebay. I was trying to remake the above picture.

But I missed calculated (coz the above picture was for iphone 5, my phone is 6plus) thus I have to rethink of the lay out and came out with this:

I used normal, school craft glue to stick all the bedazzled thingy. took me at least 4 weekends on this. I don't know how long the glue will hold the bedazzled for but so far (I've been using the phone case for 2 weeks?) only 3 tiny dots of beads fell off. so, i guess that's a good sign, right? I didn't think the glue could hold it that long.

Now, I am moving on to my third DIY style; colored/designed paper style phone case.

Went shopping with my sister yesterday (hunting for tudung actually but I'm a woman. I buy things even when I don't need them :P hahaha) and I was looking for Mod Podge at Shabby Chic (an artsy/crafty shop for creative individuals).

it really is just another Craft Glue thingy but with stronger adhesive/effect.
they were out of stock but i found this

the sales lady told me this will make the same effect as the mod podge. I hesitated and put the thing back on its shelf and went to see what my sister was up to.
She was looking for some crafty design papers. they were on sales (everything was on sales in that shop, for krismas); 10 pieces and above and the paper will be $1 each. (normal price ranges from $1.60 to $2.90 each).
"Good bargain," my sister said.
Since I was trying to make another DIY case design, i decided to follow suit.
and boy did I ever.

I bought 11 pieces + a sticker type paper with alphabet and numbers on it.
and when i was about to pay, i ran to the back of the kadai and finally just took the mod podge wanna-be. it was like 'now or never' moment. LOL

So now, I'm thinking of how to put them all together. I was even thinking about cutting off some of my SHINee photos from their album photobooks. I don't know. I haven't quite figure it out yet.

but one thing for sure, I'll be sharing my finished products here.

and maybe make something out of this 'findings'

a/n: hmm..what do you know, a slow progress is still a progress.

. . .
