Cheap Coffee for Me

I am not a coffee lover and I don't think I ever will

BUTT

I do make an exception.

Remember that time I was spending every Saturdays at Starbucks? was it in 2019? I stopped when the pandemic hits in 2020. When things turned back to somewhat normal, I lepak there again like a couple of times but that was it.

There's not much option for non-coffee drinker there. I often ordered like the mango juice and rapsberry tea or something and the occasional non coffee seasonal drinks.

I forgot what this was but it was that seasonal flavored ones.

They have the choco drink with chocolate chip frappe going on but by the time I started lepak-ing in Starbucks, I was so done with that drink; The chunkiness of the choco chip annoys me. Until my friend suggested Caramel Macchiato. I mean, coffee but ok. and I actually enjoyed it. You can barely taste the coffee. Just milk and sweetness. Bearable for my taste bud.

Fast forward to 2021 and I haven't lepak in Starbucks for a longgg taimmm. I went there via drivethru in the middle of a secondwave and was craving for their Salted Caramel Cheese cake (another favorite that I like to order time lepak). So I ordered that together with my fav drink, Caramel Macchiato. buii...cost me around $13-$14. Laik whatttt...but craving punya pasal, I bedal je.

The next time tho, I was about to run some errands and thought of buying something to drink. The easiest way to get this drink without having to search for parking and jalan and all that jazz was to go to a drive thru and for my route, Starbuck came to mind but I was adamant to not spent $7-$8 for a drink.

So, I came up with a solution.

and I am here to share.

Here's what you need:

a tumblr (I am sure everyone has at least one of these or something similar) and put ice (don't tell me you don't have a freezer) in it.

and a corner shop / mini mart bought drink of your choice.

and voila!

Iced Caramel Macchiato.

Cost? $1.20

Taste? Similar.

When I thought of this, I was thinking about buying the bottle size Mr. Brown Caramel Coffee. But when I went into that corner shop and saw Mr. Brown has Caramell Macchiato, tarus lah ku bali.

Moral of the story? It's time for me to cut down on my food expenses. There are cheaper version of things. Yea, they may taste so-so (I'm thinking of sushi hereπŸ˜‚) but it's still there.

Lets just match our food crave with our wallet.

That's for me. πŸ˜—

Onew and Punch

it's been so long!

So, Onew x Punch released new song via SM Station. called λ³„ ν•˜λ‚˜ (Way).

I liked it on the first listen. I really do.

I have not learn the meaning of the song yet. coz I am lazy but I'm sure it's sentimental. or so far from the melody.

and

you should also listen to this version. I'm sure it's really live. Their voice just melts~

here's extra. I thought some part of the song sounded familiar to me. took me a few days but I found it. Elliot Yamin's Wait for you.

Familiar kn?

Netflix Update 5

I said 'final' like this will be the last of Netflix endeavor.

Kita gelak ramai2. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I just thought the ones I'm gonna share today needs it's own post.

the Princess Switch. featuring Vanessa Hudgens. and just Vanessa Hudgens.

1.

2018. The Princess Switch.

I rewatched this last weekend and thought, yo, this gives me Grand Budapest vibe but only during the baking part.

kinda cliche ish but still good.

I don't know. the acting is cool. last time a twin played by the same person this good was Lindsay Lohan in ParentTrap.

Storyline kinda so-so.

A baker, Stacy, from Chicago becomes a Princess Belgravia. like I said, cliche but still an acceptable storyline to this day.

8/10 for that convincing acting.

oh they did explain how they become so look-a-like. Apparently there was an old great great cousin who rebelled and moved from Montenaro to America. something like that.

2.

2020. The Princess Switch Switched Again.

Again, I rewatch this last weekend and I was confused. How come in the first movie she a Duchess / Lady Margeret and now she is preparing to be Queen?!

Sekali rupanya there's an explanation about how the Former King of Montenaro passed on and the Son abdicated and the next in line to the throne was Margeret. okie.

the storyline was better? but still cliche. now the story is about the future Queen's problem being with someone below her rank.

the extra twist? another look-a-like. and I think its the best character out of the three, Lady Fiona Pembroke (that last name is foreshadow lol. I really thought it'd be spelled like Pamborough or something).

another 8/10 for Lady Fiona character. lol

3.

2021. I mean, how far can you stretch the story imma right?

The Princess Switch 3 Romancing the Star.

and I really thought there's going to be a celebrity in it. titled can be misleading.

For this third and I hope the last installment of this franchise, the story revolve around Pembroke. and ap

parently Pemmy is the cute nickname after Fiffy. LOL these writers sometimes.

as previously mentioned, I like Lady Fiona character. So this focus on her is awesome. Except one thing that erk me.

I know right now people be like all inclusive but this movie makes me realize how in your face it is. yes, I'm talking about race. I guess she just trying to produce movies that includes people, like Cinderella version with Brandy. Where the Prince is Asian, the Queen is black, and the King is white. I mean, applause.

but really my initial reaction when I watched this movie was "dammm sh be getting all of them; white, black, asian lol" and did you know that she Philipino? Stacy mentioned that her family in Philipines do hugs. So I Googled and in real life, Vanessa is Philipino. I really didn't know that.

anyway, it's not a bad thing. about the race. I'm just amused. that is all. πŸ€ 8/10 as well. yeah. just 8. its the cliche that I just can't knock on.

4. Extras!

A Castle for Chrismas.

Ok this I just watched. It was again a cliche. that hallmark kinda chrismas movie but on Netflix.

it's about this writer who become hated for killing one of her book character and she took a vacation to Scotland. Really nice with that change of scenery at least. but still a fuckin cliche.

what gets me excited was the cameos!!! If you have watched the three movies above, you'll know who I was talking about; the Prince butler and the Lady turned Queen lady in waiting/ nanny. I was excited with their entry. I didn't understand until the movie ends that they just there as cameos. ( I read somewhere today that there's a name for this; the Netflix Holiday Universe Cameos)

I give it 8/10 coz Scotland!!

Ok, that is all. until next time.

Netflix Update 4

 back again.

let's continue on with series that I've watched on Netflix thus far.

I think this is what I like lots about series on Netflix. They came out / released on the same time. Except for Korean series. that still came out once a week. I'm not sure tho. I have not watch anything more after Start-Up.

Yes, I haven't watch Squid Game.

Anyway,

lesgo.

1.

The Willoughbys.

Ok the storyline reminds me of the Unfortunate Events. and the vibes reminds me of Corpse Bride except with color.

6/10 for being accentric.

2.

Green Eggs and Ham.

took me forever to give this a watch. Even when Whos are my favorite fictional beings; the Grinch, Horton hears a Who, the Lorax.

Damm 13 episodes. 30mins each episode. patut aku put it off so long.

anyway, 10/10 will watch again. LOL

I am definitely Guy.

3.

A Tale Dark and Grimm.

I really thought this going to be like a nother version of Hansel and Gratel but nope.

coz ada 10 episodes. 30mins each. I should've known better. LOL

a very interesting way of retelling the stories. I mean, its somewhat the original Grimm version but with a twist.

7/10 for keeping me intrigued.

4.

Maya and the Three.

one of the teaser picture that Netflix shown reminds me of Coco. So sis download lerr. attracts my attention gitu.

9 episodes. average 45mins each episode.

I was happy when I heard Rosa's voice!

I thought it was like Coco, maybe it is. but its more Mayan and Aztec era. (Google said 'Aztec Empire' instead of era. LOL suka2 hati ku saja pakai era).

When I watched it, I thought about wanting to play games. ahah thats how it feels like, quests.

8/10 for the different characters development. πŸ‘πŸ‘

I know. Looks like I watched to much cartoon here. You lucky aku malas mention Barbie. but bet yo ass I watched my Barbie on Netflix too. Last movie I watched was Barbie Big City Big Dreams.

5.

The Irregulars.

Another version of Sherlock.

Netflix gave you Sherlock sister now, another family member.

8 episodes. almost 1hr each episode.

LOVE!  10/10 recommend.

6.

Shadow and Bone.

heard that this is from a book. Makes me wanna read. I believe its from two books? I might need to do more research. one sec.

akusmi (excuse me). LOL dua book tah apa. 3 polangg. and then another 2 companion books I guess.

I didn't know that this is the Ben Barnes 'movie' that he was in. I know Ben Barnes as Prince Caspian. hee but reason why I decided to watch this is becoz the army outfit reminds me Prince of Persia. So, Baltic? (Google said Baltic Language or Baltic People. I'm going with Baltic People lol anyway, the map they show is area that my head go to when I said Baltic 😊) Yea, the army outfit attracts me to watch this series.

8 episodes. 1hr per episode.

10/10 will read those books. and Netflix said another season is coming and I wanna watch that too.

Ok. enough length on this post. final Netflix update next. See ya.

Netflix Update 3

woah. that last post ended so abruptly. it ended just how it started, awkward. 😘

On today's post, I'm going to update you with what I've been watching on Netflix thus far. I'm sure I missed some titles but those probably are not important *badumtsstt*

I should first update that it is now cost me $11 a month subscribing to Netflix. I feel like I wanted to join some other subscription too like Disneyplus and HBOMax but I don't know. I barely open my Netflix as it is. we'll see. go on and ask me why I want to subscribe to Disneyplus and HBOMax? πŸ˜ (Answer: Hawkeye series and Harry Potter 20th anniversary)

first update, I have not watch Anne with an E. for some reasons, I keep putting it off. 🀷

should we start with the mediocre rating first?

we should.

lesgo.

1.

Back to the Outback.

umm so.

it's a cute one but storyline kinda nawrrr.

I was questioning why nobody really noticed these group of animal walking around in the city in pack. Laik, THEY HAVE VIBRANT COLORS! They only noticed when the story wanted them to. Laik. no.

I kinda caught on to the human character being scatchy (coz at first I thought this movie was base loosely on Steve Irwin but the character sounded so fake and turns out *dun dun dun*) and I was right.

They tried to give me moral in the end but I was not buying it. I'm sure all animals are love

but predators will remain predators.

4/10 for the colorful aspect of the stories.

2.

on Netflix, the English title was Green Snake. but as the opening credit starts, the lettering in Chinese mention '2' so I was curious if there's a part one. but nada on my Netflix.

but the story is a sequel. on imdb it says 'White Snake 2: Green Snake' and when you scrolled down, it did mention an animation called White Snakes with the same characters from this one. Sooo, confirm, its just not on my Netflix (TIME TO DOWNLOAD NORDVPN).

anyway, cool storyline. I was doing folding my laundry when I was watching this so I watched it from a far most of the time. Basically i just listened. Only turning my head to the screen when ada action. It feels like it was from a game or something. I didn't google deep yo. I am not sure. πŸ˜— anyway, cool storyline and the history or legend behind the pagoda and also incarnations. 8/10 for the graphics. the -2 is for the lips not matching the words. I just checked. rupanya, I watched with English dubbed. patut. I thought about it but I only realized the words not syncing with the lips towards the end, so I didnt bother.

3.

Wish Dragon.

Mushu 2.0!!

actually it's more Aladdin but Chinese version. Instead of Genie, we have a dragon.

I found out about this becoz David So was voicing one of the character. it was only seconds but that seconds got me to watch.

Lupa ku bila I watched this but its not this month. Maybe in Aug/Sep. Anyway, storyline really Aladdin; poor guy, wanting to impress a rich girl so he wished to be looking rich too. Plot twist nya really something. Either I wasn't really read into it but it really was unexpected. 8/10 for being cute and Asian.

Actually. I watched a lot of this Chinese made cartoon. I know I mostly watch becoz Mulan 1998. but they have their own charms.

  • Over The Moon
  • Abominable - I remember this made me cry so bad.
  • The Guardian Brothers
  • Next Gen
That is all I can find yg I already watch. too bad Netflix don't have history tab. anyway, moving on.

4.
A Boy Called Chrismas.

Ok this is just another 'supposedly' Santa Claus origin story.
Professor McGonagall was in it. Professor Slughorn too.
πŸ˜†
Unlike Klaus, this movie involve magic. So it's kind a no to me. but it is still warm to me.
Especially the part where your parents do just about everything for you, to save you.
Even with that, storyline kinda weak?
I understand how we go from wanting to find hope to just end up being violence but why? is that necessary?
6/10 for the mouse character. LOL

Ok this is getting too long. I will continue with series on the next post. see ya there.
